2022 Honda Civic Hatchback: First Look
This is the 2022 honda civic hatchback. Beyond adding space and versatility it addresses Two of the main issues we had with the sedan. beyond giving civic shoppers another body style to choose from the arrival of the civic hatchback is noteworthy. because it gives us our first look at the honda civic type R.
Yeah I know that’s a little bit of a stretch but bear with me. For generations, honda has based its sportiest civic on a hatchback body style and there is zero indication that that is going to change. but while this car might not look that much sportier than the normal civic sedan. There is one new feature that we think you’re gonna like. What is that on the 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback Sport and sport-touring you can get a six-speed manual transmission. That means honda is finally adding a manual gearbox for the 2-liter base engine and the optional 1.5 liter turbocharged4-cylinder. That is great news.
In the 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback, we like manual transmissions. 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback should be more fun to drive with the manual transmission. beyond that change, this interior is pretty much indistinguishable. there’s this same cool retro vibe with the honeycomb grille. there’s the same infotainment same digital instrument cluster and same material quality. that’s fine we like the seating position we like the technology we like the manual transmission a whole lot more.
Honda did make some changes to the front end of the 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback. There’s a new hatchback exclusive honeycomb grille painted in black. That you will find on every trim level. But the big changes are back here. the rear overhang is 4.9inches shorter than it is on the sedan. there’s also a sleeker roofline and a new set of taillights with a vehicle spanning light bar. that gives the civic hatchback a very different look from the rear three quarters and from behind and one that we think is quite a bit sportier. let’s take a look inside that hatch. In the 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback, you have a nice wide opening. Now, this is 1.6 inches wider than last year’s car.
Which is going to make loading and unloading a fair bit easier. But you won’t be taking quite as much stuff with you. This is 24.5cubic feet of cargo volume. Last year’s car was 25.7. The 2022 civic hatchback pairs a more versatile design with more attractive proportions. that is a win. That it also adds an available six-speed manual transmission and this sport-touring trim certainly doesn’t hurt matters either. For pricing honda isn’t saying too much yet we’re expecting it to be around 22000. Just like the current hatchback. But we’ll have much more when this vehicle arrives later this year.
